At the end of 2024, Sisstr Evolution—a brand known for its deep roots in surf culture and female empowerment—entered a bold new chapter. With a refreshed identity, a new creative direction, and an entirely reimagined swimwear line, they needed visuals that embodied their evolution. That’s where I came in. As a fashion and surf photographer, I was honored to be chosen to bring the new Sisstr to life through water-based imagery that celebrates the freedom, power, and femininity of surf culture.
The brief? Capture the energy and essence of the Spring/Summer 2025 collections with real surfer girls—strong, soulful, and effortlessly stylish.
A Surf Photography Campaign About Sisterhood for Sisstr Evolution
This wasn’t just another campaign—it was a brand photoshoot designed to mark a turning point. Sisstr Evolution was seeking visuals that felt natural, wild, and unfiltered, yet elevated with a touch of fashion-forward flair. We had four days to shoot the entire collection in the water.
To make it all happen, I built a small but mighty team, bringing in the talented Heiko Bothe as a second photographer in the water. Shooting surf campaigns requires a certain rhythm, trust, and flow, especially when you’re out in the waves with surfers.
The Surfer Girls Who Brought the Vision to Life

We were lucky to work with three incredible talents who each brought their own vibe to the campaign:
Patty Ornelas, a powerhouse longboarder from Mexico, brought strength and elegance to every frame.siss
Louise Maurisset, the effortlessly cool French surfer now based in California, added a playful, carefree energy.
Josie Mireless, a natural beauty and creative soul from California who also shot editorial on land photos of the campaign.

Shooting the Spring/Summer 2025 Collection of Sisstr Evolution
From dawn sessions to golden hour glows, we explored every lighting possibility across the surf break and crystal-clear waters. The conditions weren’t ideal for half of the sessions—but one overcast morning surprised us with a rainbow stretching across the sky, turning the entire shoot into something straight out of a dream. That moment? It’s set to become the banner photo on the Sisstr Evolution website. The swimwear pieces—vibrant, functional, and made for movement—came alive when worn by these women in their element.
We shot both editorial-style fashion images and dynamic surf photography, ensuring the brand had a range of content to use across lookbooks, digital campaigns, social media, and beyond. My goal was to keep the visuals raw but refined, authentic yet aspirational.
This wasn’t just a shoot—it was a story of reinvention and connection. Through this campaign, we captured more than just beautiful images. We documented a transition, a rebirth, and a return to roots with a fresh perspective.
